minor
Returns a (first) minor of a square matrix.
Syntax
-
minor(A, i, j)
-
A
is a square matrix -
i
andj
are positive integers
-
Description
If A
is a square matrix, i
a valid row index of A
, and j
a valid column index of A
, then minor(A, i, j)
returns the (i, j)
minor of A
, that is, the determinant of the submatrix obtained from A
by removing the i
th row and the j
th column.
In other words,
minor(A, i, j) = det(SubmatrixByRemoval(A, i, j)).
